A member of Thomasena Chapter #206 Eastern Stars Belton, Leverette is past Worthy Matron and present Treasurer. She is also a member of Azzam Court #185 in Anderson, where she is the past Commandress. Leverette is also past Deputy for the Oasis and present Treasurer.
Leverette was employed by Anderson School District Five from 1976-2021, and currently works for the Anderson Area YMCA.
She is the daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Lee White Thompson, and mother of two sons - Rev. Barry T. Leverette (Sonia) and Mr. Rodrigues T. Leverette (Mary). Ms. Leverette is a grandmother of 8 grandchildren, and great-grandmother of 9 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Leverette graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School, and graduated from (then) Anderson College (now Anderson University).
