National Board Certification

Each new successful candidate is awarded $5,000 from the state based upon recent legislation and it is good for 5 years.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

 

  • Candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Candidates must have completed three years of successful teaching at one or more early childhood, elementary or secondary schools.
  • Candidates must submit proof of holding a valid state teaching license for each of those three years.

 

National Board Process Requirements:

The certification process for National Board Certification is designed to collect standards- based evidence of accomplished practice. In all certificate areas, candidates for National Board Certification are required to complete four components: three portfolio entries, which you submit online, and a computer-based assessment, which is administered to you at a testing center.
