Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

Elementary and Secondary Act of 1965 (EASA)

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is a reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965.    It was signed by President Obama on December 10, 2015.  It replaces the No Child Left Behind Act enacted in 2002.  ESSA contains several important sections affecting students and teachers in Anderson School District Five including  Title I - Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged, Title II - Preparing, Training, and Recruiting Highly-Qualified Teachers, Principals, or other school leaders, Title III - Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students, and Title IV -Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) services.
